How to Reduce Mucus/ PhlegmEveryone’s either suffering from cold or cough these days due to constant change in weather. so, how do we protect ourselves from falling sick? Here are few tips to keep you healthy and strong.
b. Avoid certain veggies and fruits like bananas, potatoes, corn and cabbage as it increases the mucus production. c. Avoid Wheat. Mucus flows where wheat goes causing common respiratory syndromes. d. Avoid beverages which lead to dehydration like coffee, tea and soda. Dehydration leads to thicker mucus. Drinking water instead, helps to keep mucus secretion thin and lubricated. 4. Consume more of onions, turmeric, warm broth/ soup or even spicy food (well, of course not excessively) to reduce inflammation, loosen mucus and drain mucus at the same time. 5. Chanting “N- kara”, “M-kara” and “Om-kara” out loud helps to loosen and break mucus. 6. Last but not least, “Jala Neti” or also known as Nasal Wash on a regular basis helps to clear out the mucus.
